One of the things I’ve done this year that I realize I’ve not shared here on the blog has been such a fun blessing in my life.  Twice now several of us from Texas that take classes together at Big Picture Classes have met up at a scrapbooking store and retreat in Corsicana.  I can’t tell you how much fun it is! We laugh so much!  And, I’ve never gotten the chance to scrapbooking with others in person.  So far, when we get together, I’m the only sole digital scrapbooker but these gals make me feel so much a part of them and I find I’m super them- I’ve seen their influences in my pages.

Here’s a group shot of all of us from September:

In May, I just kinda did my thing as I normally would.  We had a great time. I really didn’t want to leave but I wanted to be there for Senior Day and the last home SFA baseball game, so I came home early.

This layout is actually a bit of a re-do of my first ever layout.  The the top picture and script font were the original layout- my first ever.  But, I really didn’t tell the story.  I wanted to create something where I told the full story without really re-doing the original.

In September, I did things differently.  I had page ideas in mind.  I had gathered the pictures and potential supplies for them in one place so that I could put the pages together.  And, I stayed for the entire weekend- I had so much fun in May there was no way I was going to miss this fun.  And I got a ton of pages done including two layouts that will be some swinging shutter pages.

Here is the first of the two swining shutter layouts that I completed.  These two sets of layouts took hours and hours but are so worth it.  Each will have two flaps on top of the full size page- that swing out.  I had the 12 by 12 ones but the store owner also had 8.5 by 11, so I did one of those. (I just finished proofreading these finally and ordering them.  I’ll share images of what these look like in the page protectors after I get them.)

When closed, this is what the front will look like.  This will really be cut in half, so that it can open up to reveal the next image.

This will be what you see when you open it up- the two sides will be the backs of the two sides above.

And then this is the back of the layout.

Here is the other one that I did.  It’ll be the same as the one above in terms of structure only it’s 8.5 by 11.  This one is probably my favorite of the trip. . . I love what all these texts capture.

The super cool thing is the number of stories and the tidbits of our life that I was able to capture.  These layouts make me smile when I think about the moments I’ve captured.

I’ve updated my scrapbook  to show all my layouts that hadn’t been uploaded yet to the Newest Layouts so you can see these and a few others.  For most of them, if you click on them there, you’ll be able to read the journaling (with a few errors that were corrected prior to printing) .

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26
