Sunday evening we ventured out to the deer lease. Our excuse: Cody’s Persimmon Trees needed watering. Truth be told while the trees did need watering, we really just wanted to get out.
After getting ice to keep some cokes, waters, and gatorade cold out there, we headed out there. We- or I should probably say He- were all work- at least initially- first things first water the trees.
Cody cleared a tree out of the lease road to his stand. . . .
I was no help. . . guess what I was doing?
Yup, this trip was about taking pictures.
But, then before we got too much farther down the road, this guy was in it. . . he was so much fun to watch and he let us keep inching forward in the car. He, unlike taking pictures of my husband, behaved. He gave me plenty of time to switch lenses, let us drive forward, and then even perked his ears up for me. Well Done Mr. Bunny Rabbit. (OK, I have no idea girl or boy. . .)
He did, I took pictures.
I took pictures of weeds, flowers, and this spider.
Then we had time to drive the roads. But first we had to go by our little bunny friend who was back in the same spot in the road.
Then we drove around, talked, and found one large mud hole.
We went over to his other stand to see how his work is progressing.
I tried to play with the sun but it didn’t seem to want to cooperate. We both figure it was too high in the sky.
He surveyed the place- as always.
Or was he merely waiting for me to get done taking pictures of flowers? I don’t know.
As we headed out we saw two deer and four turkeys- and Cody saw another rabbit too.
I can’t really say what was my favorite part- but I know my favorite thing about the evening was sharing it all with Cody.
