I spent quite a bit of last week simply waiting. I created and began to run a series of reports for work. Many of the queries took more minutes to run than I even wanted to count just to run- and often just so I could see what I might need to tweak before I waited for the report to run again.
It was in that tedious analytical process that inspiration struck. I often feel like two different people, especially at work- the analytical one and the creative one. In reality, the two sides intermingle all the time- there is a creative side to researching and problem solving and I find that I often get analytical while creating.
But last week I was itching to get creative while sitting there in that very large numbers project. I decided to pick up a large sketchbook and create a weekly planning page- where I could make my notes, track to do’s, and do some doodling as well.
The page for this week started out like this:
On the right is a spot for each day where I’ve added tasks etc. the left side is open for notes, things I want to accomplish in the week, etc.
As I’ve gone through this week, I’ve included bits of what was doing on in my doodles.
Then, I also find little areas to doodle more.
