One of the reasons I’m loving this new house is the wall color. I admit it. This house has good bones and add the perfect color and oh my! I got to have the house painted my favorite color- D61-1 Morning Fog (Olympic Paint).
Busting Through Doubts: Paint it!
There is most certainly a back story on this wall color. It started as a little chip on a brochure I’d picked up. I don’t know what it was but I wanted to paint our bedroom that color. I had my doubts. It wasn’t like anything else I would have chosen. But I promise you it was calling out to me (I know now it was singing one of the sweetest songs you ever heard, but at the time I didn’t know that). But when it comes to paint, there’s always a Ctrl Z- you can always undo, well redo it.
I knew it wouldn’t take much paint so I went for it. I’ve never ever been sorry about it. This color. I just love it. I love the way it changes as different light hits it. I love the way it still sings to me to this day. And to have a house filled with this color- oh my!
I wish the sun would come out so I could really show it to you. . . it’s been cloudy and dreary ever since we moved- we’re just in one of those weather patterns.
The thing about that first painting though. I took a chance. I ignored my doubts and went for it. Paint’s such an easy way to do that. Anytime we can push through our doubts and things work out like they did that fateful painting day, we grow more confident in our ideas. We learn to see doubt as something we can push through- and often to brighter days ahead.
